Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a 2nd‑shift manufacturing team. You will assign work, coordinate scheduling, and drive efficiency across production lines with a focus on safety and quality.

You’ll collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize methods and outputs. The role requires 3–5 years of supervision in manufacturing, proficiency with MS Office, and a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred).

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years supervisory experience is required.
  • Manufacturing experience is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise hourly employees and coordinate shift operations.
  • Prepare daily time sheets, production summaries, overtime and downtime reports.
  • Plan work assignments to maximize manpower, materials, equipment and facilities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to improve methods, layouts, processes and equipment.
  • Coordinate with Material Control on production schedules and parts.
  • Work with Quality Control to maintain and interpret quality standards.
  • Communicate changes or conditions affecting production to management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and housekeeping standards.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles for efficient, safe delivery of products.
  • Develop employee skills and address concerns to maintain engagement.
  • Review production orders and schedules to plan operations.
  • Plan production operations and establish priorities and sequences.
  • Prepare operation schedules and coordinate activities for quality and on-time delivery.
  • Inspect machines and equipment to ensure performance and utilization.
  • Develop or revise standard practices and ensure compliance.
  • Resolve worker grievances through proper channels.
  • Compile stores and retrieve production data.

The Production Supervisor is a second-line supervisor responsible for assigning and coordinating the work in a manufacturing department. He / she directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Shift Hours are 3pm to 11:30pm, Monday through Friday.

  • Supervising hourly employees, maintaining log of shift operations.
  • Preparing daily time sheets for hourly employees, production summaries, overtime, and downtime reports.
  • Planning work assignments to achieve maximum utilization of manpower, materials, equipment, and facilities.
  • Working with Engineering personnel concerning new or revised methods, layouts, processes, and equipment to increase operating efficiency, reduce cost or improve quality.
  • Working with Material Control personnel concerning production schedules, parts, etc. Providing feedback on status of schedule and needs for change.
  • Working with Quality Control personnel concerning the maintenance and interpretation of quality standards.
  • Communicating to management any changes or conditions which may affect production.
  • Working with Human Resources concerning employee or labor relations matters.
  • Assuring compliance with plant rules, policies, safety standards and good housekeeping.
  • Assure compliance with Federal, State, Local, and company safety regulations, procedures, policies and best practices. Responsible for building and maintaining a safety culture.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to assure efficient, safe delivery of high-quality products to customers.
  • Maintain high levels of employee engagement by developing employee skills, being accessible to employees, and addressing concerns and other practices and activities.
  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to production superintendent for action.
  • Compiles stores and retrieves production data.

  • Must be able to work 2nd shift hours 3pm to 11:30pm Monday through Friday.
