Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and ability to lead hourly operators.

Responsibilities

• First line of responsibility for production personnel; coordination of personal time and first line of contact for personnel issues.
• Maintain consistent and accurate shift to shift communication.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment ensuring that all safety instructions are followed.
• Safety, quality, cost, and delivery of assigned shift.
• Working knowledge of production processes.
• Train new employees on safety standards.
• Manage cross training across shift.
• Conduct regular meetings with team including safety topics.
• Support Plant Manager with special projects.
• Complete daily reports and maintain logs.
• Ensure work is performed in a quality and timely manner.
• Record downtime, scrap, and determine team efficiency.
• Review production schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to meet specs.
• Duties related to time and attendance system.
• Direct supervision of production personnel.
• Disciplinary action, employee evaluations and policy enforcement.
• Troubleshoot machines and tooling issues.
• Lead with strategic and tactical execution.
• Leadership by example and empowerment of team.
• Excellent leadership skills to promote a positive environment.

• Manage cross training across shift.
• Conduct regular meetings with team which incorporate safety topics.
• Support the Plant Manager as necessary with any special projects.
• Complete daily reports and maintain logs.
• Ensure that work is being performed in a quality and timely manner.
• Recording downtime, scrap, and determining team efficiency.
• Review production schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specification.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent.
• At least five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment. As least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work and thrive under time constraints and juggle and prioritize responsibilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and documentation skills.
• Team -oriented, collaborative, and flexible.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability as a leader of hourly operators.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Associate degree or technical school preferred.

Hours:

• Monday-Thursday, 3:30pm-2:30am, Friday, as needed based on production hours.
