Job summary

Nidec is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Production Supervisor to oversee a second-shift production cell in the United States. The role requires directing daily activities, coordinating schedules, and ensuring on-time, quality outputs while driving continuous improvement initiatives across lean and six sigma projects.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting, with strong leadership, problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements and enforces safety and good housekeeping standards by utilizing 1+5s principles.
• Leads and supports the company’s Quality Management System
• Maintains First5 boards and conducts First5 meetings
• Trains, develops and evaluates employees
• Directs and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in production
• Maintains operating expenses by reducing labor and improving production yields
• Reads and analyzes charts, work orders, production schedules and other reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production
• Maintains and approves employee time records
• Coordinates operations and activities within or between departments / cells
• Plans and establishes work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet production goals
• Inspects materials, products and production equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
• Resolves employee problems and complaints
• Meets deadlines
• Directs and supports continuous improvement through the use of lean and 6 sigma methodologies

Job Summary

Coordinate and be accountable for production in a manufacturing department and / or work cell to supply internal and external customers, on-time with quality products. Supervises the daily activities of production area to ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved. Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity. Identifies problems related to production process and provides production reports to assist process improvement. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.

• Minimum of 3 years as a manufacturing production supervisor preferably in a lean manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Education

Minimum of an Associate Degree or equivalent experience
