Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is hiring a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift in Huntington Beach, CA. You will lead daily production operations for composite manufacturing, guide technicians, coordinate cross-functional workflows, and ensure safety, efficiency, and on‑schedule delivery.

The role requires a high school diploma or higher and 2+ years of manufacturing experience (or 6+ years in a similar role), with strong leadership, problem-solving, and MS Office skills. Travel is not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or 6+ years of experience in an equivalent role, preferably in manufacturing and composites.
• Experience using manufacturing machinery, tools, and composite fabrication equipment.
• Proven skills in Microsoft (MS) Office.

Responsibilities

• Leads day-to-day production operations, assigning work, managing priorities, and coordinating resources.
• Ensures employees have proper materials, equipment, and support to meet production goals.
• Trains and develops technicians, including onboarding, cross-training, and establishing capability objectives.
• Evaluates employee performance, provides constructive feedback, and supports performance goal alignment.
• Addresses employee issues, supports hiring and termination decisions, and maintains positive team morale.
• Ensures safe operation of equipment, schedules maintenance, and trains employees on safety procedures.
• Reviews and approves timecards, overtime, and paid time off requests.
• Identifies process inefficiencies, recommends improvements, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitors production processes, maintains key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepares progress reports.
• Ensures compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and legal requirements.
