Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Fortify Building Solutions unit in the Fort Worth/Houston area. You will lead a manufacturing team on the 2nd shift, coach staff, ensure safety and quality, manage staffing, and drive continuous improvement across production lines.

You will collaborate with plant leadership, hire and train personnel, and handle shift communications while keeping paperwork compliant and on schedule.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-year Associate or Bachelor's in related field preferred but not required.
• Exposure/knowledge of fabrication tech such as MIG welding, Robotic welding, Plasma cutting, Laser cutting, oxy-fuel cutting, shearing, press brake forming, grinding and finishing.
• Minimum of two years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic Microsoft knowledge.
• Experience with side forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws, stretch wrap machine, and various pneumatic equipment preferred, not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly; mobility for long periods standing.

• Develop and train employees, conduct evaluations, lead daily safety and production meetings; drive 5S, cost reduction and quality improvements.
• Conduct interviews to identify qualified candidates for hire.
• Assign personnel, oversee shift changes and maintain effective communication.
• Ensure accurate paperwork for line operations, audits and corrective actions.
• Address urgent production or shipping requirements; enforce safety policies.
• Promote goals of safety, quality, delivery and cost; identify improvements and use data to refine processes.
• Manage materials to reduce waste and support quality; collaborate with other departments.

Job Description

JOB DETAILS

This position sits within our Fortify Building Solutions business, which serves the pre-engineered metal buildings, metal roof & wall systems and steel building components industry. The Production Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations within a diverse and talented manufacturing team for one of our legacy sites within the metal solutions business unit. Beyond supervision, they also coach, resolve issues, train, and serve as a link between direct reports and upper management.

This position is a 2nd shift, 6pm-2:30am, Monday through Friday. OT as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead value stream focused on structural steel and structural sheet metal welding and fabrication in accordance with AWS D1.1 Structural Code Steel, AWS D1.3 Structural Code Sheet Steel, CSA W47 and CSA W59 Canadian Welding specifications
• Facilitates the manufacture of building products to meet production demands, while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity
• Collaborates with plant leadership to develop staffing guidelines, optimizing resource utilization while controlling costs
• Hires, supervises, evaluates, and replaces staff as required to meet performance goals
• Develops and trains employees for increasing responsibilities, conducts periodic evaluations, and holds safety and production meetings daily. Drives initiatives of 5S, cost reduction, and quality improvement
• Conducts Interviews and identifies qualified candidates for hire
• Assigns personnel, oversees rotations, and maintains effective communication during shift changes and troubleshooting
• Ensures accurate completion of paperwork related to line operation, including logs, audits, and corrective actions
• Readily addresses any urgent production or shipping requirements, even if it disrupts the regular workflow Knowledge and understanding of all safety polices and regulations and ability to address all unsafe acts and conditions
• Administers policies fairly and consistently
• Provides coaching and counselling to employees and corrective action when needed, following company guidelines
• Promotes overall goals of company in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
• Identifies and assists with implementations for continuous process improvement. Uses data to improve and refine production process
• Manages materials to reduce waste and support quality
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure timely job completions
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills, combines with the ability to educate and train employees in a productionenvironment
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• 2 – Year associate degree or a bachelor's degree in related field preferred but not required
• Exposure and/or knowledge of fabrication technologies such as MIG Welding (GMAW), Robotic Welding, Plasma Cutting, Laser Cutting, Oxy-Fuel Cutting, Shearing, Press Brake Forming, Grinding and Finishing and Blueprint Reading used in a Manufacturing environment
• Minimum of two years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, required
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate, mentor and train employees on a regular basis
• Must have basic Microsoft knowledge
• Experience with side forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws, stretch wrap machine, and various pneumatic equipment preferred, not required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Mobility - prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc.
• Exposure – Moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
