Job summary

Holly Poultry is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 2nd shift to oversee daily production activities, manage staff, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and improve processes. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably bilingual in Spanish, and familiarity with LEAN principles.

We are currently hiring for: Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift - Hours Sunday-Thursday 3pm-11:30pm

Responsible for providing supervisory leadership and direction for all activities within assigned area to ensure the achievement of production goals (safety, quality, manufacturing, and housekeeping). Develops strong working relationships with all employees and departments to achieve the best results while maintaining the company culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production Oversight:
    • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities to meet production targets and deadlines.
    • Manages the workforce by communicating, monitoring, coaching and disciplining employees.
    • Monitor workflows and adjust schedules to address production issues or delays.
    • Oversee the proper use and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Staff Management:
    • Lead, train, and evaluate production team members.
    • Ensure employees follow company policies, food safety standards, GMP, and operational protocols.
    • Foster a positive and productive working environment.
    • Experience working in a unionized environment a plus.
  • Quality and Safety Assurance:
    • Maintain compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA, SQF).
    • Work with QA on regular quality checks to ensure products meet company and regulatory standards.
    • Address and resolve quality or safety concerns promptly.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
    • Implement efficiency and cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of production metrics, inventory, and employee performance.
    • Prepare and submit reports on production progress, challenges, and achievements.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a food service or consumer goods facility.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing methodology and principles preferred.
  • Computer literacy required with proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible Full-Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to motivate, develop and direct people to perform at their highest potential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to formulate and deliver ideas and material in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment a plus.
  • Candidate must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug and background screen.

Working Conditions:

  • This role requires working in a production environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
