Job summary

nVent is seeking a 2nd shift leader at its Anoka, MN facility to guide production within the Value Stream, drive Lean initiatives, and mentor a team of manufacturing staff. You will ensure safety, support staffing and performance reviews, and coordinate with HR on employee relations while delivering on commitments.

Responsibilities include directing daily production activities, reviewing payroll hours, and supporting new process development.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ year direct leadership experience.
• 2+ years of Lean manufacturing experience with ability to apply Lean concepts.
• Able to work in an office and production environment and perform physical tasks.

This is a 2nd Shift position is based in our Anoka, MN facility.

What you will experience in this position:

• Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions, and supports nVent's safety programs.
• Directly lead production employees in assigned Value Stream, including training, directing, conducting performance reviews, educating, and mentoring on performance.
• Look after day-to-day production activities within the value stream(s) to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.
• Handle daily performance through the use of process center communication boards.
• Partner with human resources on employee relations to ensure accurate procedures and practices are followed.
• Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the manufacturing operation through the deployment of the Lean methodology.
• Review and submit payroll hours on a weekly basis, entering exception hours as needed.
• Support new process and product development and implementation.
• Develops key improvement projects and fulfills related duties as needed.

You have:

• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including 1+ year of direct leadership and additional indirect leadership experience.
• Proven 2+ years of experience in Lean manufacturing, with a strong ability to articulate and apply Lean concepts and methodologies.
• Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands: Work in an office and production environment Bend, squat down, and reach above your head Climb stairs and ladders Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Benefits to support the lives of our employees

Compensation Range: $62,900.00 - $116,900.00 Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
