We're seeking a talented Production Supervisor based in Hanover, PA.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Value Stream Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the safety of all associates under their supervision. This role oversees all manufacturing activities in their assigned department(s) within a unionized facility to achieve desired quality and quantity of production at the lowest possible cost and provides leadership to production associates. The Production Supervisor acts as a change agent and is a key member of the site management team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to safety programs, including PPE, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and participation in safety initiatives.
- Analyze data to improve manufacturing operations.
- Participate in post-incident safety processes, investigations, and documentation.
- Support safety policies, procedures, and training to promote a zero-incident culture.
- Drive engagement and accountability to establish and follow standard work.
- Perform Leader Standard Work daily to maximize efficiency and coordinate plant functions.
- Conduct daily meetings with associates to discuss updates and metrics.
- Monitor and control costs related to efficiency, waste reduction, overtime, and staffing, adhering to budgets.
- Manage timecard approvals and vacation requests for direct reports.
- Lead, coach, and develop associates, providing feedback to improve performance.
- Participate in Lean initiatives such as 6S, GEMBA, RCCM, and Kaizen events.
- Suggest process improvements to reduce costs and increase productivity.
- Ensure production goals related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Delivery are met.
- Maintain communication with shift supervision and management for smooth operations.
- Coordinate with support functions like HR and Quality.
- Ensure training of employees is completed and documented.
- Handle associate disputes and disciplinary actions, collaborating with HR as needed.
- Assist HR with policy adherence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Targeted Experience & Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred or equivalent experience.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Ability to work additional hours, including weekends, as needed.
- Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.
- Analytical skills for process improvement.
- Knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with WorkDay and SAP is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and business maturity.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship available.
