Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - 1st Shift. This role is onsite at our Syracuse, NY facility. Relocation is not provided for this position.

Eaton's Crouse-Hinds Business manufactures over 100,000 products for NEC and IEC applications, including conduit fittings and cable glands, industrial control and electrical apparatus, enclosures, industrial luminaires (including LED), plugs and receptacles, drilling and marine products, and solutions for commercial construction and solar. The Syracuse, NY site specializes in iron & aluminum foundries, machining, plating, and assembly, manufacturing about 1 million units per month. The team values talented professionals focused on problem solving and efficiency.

The expected annual salary range is $83,250 - $122,100. Salaries depend on skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.

What You’ll Do: As a Production Supervisor, you will lead and direct a work group within the plant, tracking performance in safety & environment, quality, on-time delivery, and cost. You will serve as the first line of contact between production employees and management.

In This Role You Will:

  • Conduct daily team stand-up meetings with department personnel.
  • Represent the company when interacting with production staff on the shop floor.
  • Drive safety policies, meet operating budgets, implement continuous improvement plans, and coach employees.
  • Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship issues, and supervise production to meet quality standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement and employee empowerment by following standardized work processes and implementing countermeasures.
  • Ensure personnel have proper training, instructions, and tools.
  • Use lean six sigma methodologies to reduce costs, inventory, and lead-times, aligning with manufacturing strategies.
  • Develop manufacturing priorities based on the schedule and monitor employee requirements to meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution.
  • Two years of manufacturing, production, or operations experience.
  • One year of leadership experience.
  • Reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY (active-duty military exempt).
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, or related field.
  • Machining experience (CNC or manual).
  • Three years of increasing responsibility in manufacturing.
  • Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, union environments, and continuous improvement projects.
