Job summary

Gardner Pie Company in Northeast Ohio is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a busy food manufacturing line, safely producing quality products while optimizing labor and materials.

You will coach teams, drive continuous improvement with LEAN tools, ensure HACCP and GMP compliance, and coordinate with Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and HR to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Strong supervisory experience in continuous manufacturing, food manufacturing preferred.
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication across departments.
• Experience applying LEAN principles and process improvement tools.

• Lead daily meetings with your team to share information on Safety, Food Safety, Quality and performance.
• Promote a respectful, engaging work environment for all team members.
• Develop training and cross-training plans for the team.
• Complete admin tasks including reviewing and approving PTO and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain strong communication with Production Supervisors across shifts and collaborate with Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Sanitation, Logistics and HR to resolve issues.

Your Role as a Production Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely produce quality products with most efficient use of labor and materials.
• Provide transformational leadership and actively lead your team.
• Achieve operational excellence to meet or exceed plan through continuous improvement.
• Supervise your team and handle the day-to-day interactions.
• Actively contribute towards a strong safety culture by sharing expectations with your team, participating in Safety Walks, and ensure adherence to all safety regulations and policies.
• Conduct daily communication meetings with your team to safe information on Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and performance.
• Ensure and promote a working environment dedicated to respect and engagement for all team members.
• Develop training and cross-training plans for your team.
• Complete administrative tasks including reviewing and approving PTO, manage disciplinary actions for team members as appropriate,
• Maintain strong communication with all Production Supervisors across all shifts and proactively resolve issues by working directly with peers and other departments including Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Sanitation, Logistics, and Human Resources.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of Supervisory experience in a continuous manufacturing environment. Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to quickly identify key issues and use data-driven decisions to resolve those issues.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication across departments.
• Proven ability to lead and develop team members.
• Experience with implementing LEAN manufacturing principles and process improvement tools.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations preferred.
• Able to meet all physical requirements for the role including sitting, walking, standing up to 5 hours, repetitive motion, bending, twisting, squatting, pulling, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 50lbs, and typing/Keyboard.

Work Environment:

Primarily in a food manufacturing environment. The facility contains the following food allergens: wheat, milk, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and eggs.
