Base pay range

$69,000.00/yr - $103,000.00/yr

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor manages a team and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Supervisory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the company policies; responsibilities include directing workflow to meet customer orders.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide first-level leadership, support, coaching, and direction to the manufacturing team.
  • Plan the flow of materials through the department, analyze production work orders, assign labor, and create equipment operating schedules to meet internal and external needs.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with all employees to foster problem solving and continuous improvement using LEAN Manufacturing principles. Suggest changes to work conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency.
  • Facilitate effective information sharing across production, planning, maintenance, warehouse, and customer service to meet deadlines.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees, including performance appraisals.
  • Work with ERP systems to ensure scheduled orders are completed and inventory issues are resolved, including cycle counts.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed consistently.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, coach employees to exceed safety, quality, customer service, and cost metrics.
  • Maintain production and time records.
  • Reward, discipline employees, and address safety, quality issues, or complaints.
  • Report incidents and downtime daily.
  • Write procedures and SOPs, and lead their implementation and training.
  • Oversee quality and quantity of output, employee training, and skills development.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, planning, quality control, accounting, HR, and R&D departments.
  • Assist in improvement or capital projects with Plant Manager and other departments.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed by plant personnel.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Production Management, or related field preferred. 3+ years production experience desirable, especially in food manufacturing.
  • Practical experience with LEAN manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and write safety rules, instructions, manuals, reports, and correspondence. Effective speaking skills.
  • Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and ability to interpret graphs.
  • Apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables.
  • Proficiency with general computer applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to learn new systems.

Salary range: $69,160.00 - $103,740.00

The actual compensation offered will depend on various factors including location, skills, education, and experience. The position remains open until filled.
