The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of supervisory experience in metal-processing, with knowledge of machine shop and welding operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two-year technical degree or higher preferred.
• 2–3 years of production supervisory experience, preferably in a metal-processing environment.
• Machine shop and welding knowledge or skills preferred.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with employees.
• Strong knowledge of plant operations.
• Good decision-making and troubleshooting skills.

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to meet medium-duty physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and assign production personnel to meet production goals.
• Establish priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules, and resolve production issues.
• Ensure all safety and quality standards are met.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production department.
• Ensure employees follow established production methods and procedures.
• Monitor employee performance and productivity.
• Train new employees in safe and effective work practices.
• Conduct workshops and provide training to improve work methods.
• Ensure plant machinery is safe and operating properly.
• Conduct safety drills and prepare employees for emergency situations.
• Monitor raw materials, WIP, and transfer of finished products.
• Communicate job expectations and provide coaching, counseling, and performance management as needed.
• Maintain positive working relationships with employees and work within the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
• Analyze production issues, identify solutions, and recommend corrective action.
• Assist the Production Manager with various production-related duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
