Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee front-shop production operations. This role is responsible for directing production employees, maintaining safety and quality standards, monitoring production schedules, and ensuring work is completed efficiently and according to established procedures.
The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of production supervisory experience in a metal-processing environment, along with knowledge or experience in machine shop and welding operations.
Schedule & Pay
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Pay: According to experience
Responsibilities
- Schedule and assign production personnel to meet production goals.
- Establish priorities, monitor progress, revise schedules, and resolve production issues.
- Ensure all safety and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production department.
- Ensure employees follow established production methods and procedures.
- Monitor employee performance and productivity.
- Train new employees in safe and effective work practices.
- Conduct workshops and provide training to improve work methods.
- Ensure plant machinery is safe and operating properly.
- Conduct safety drills and prepare employees for emergency situations.
- Monitor raw materials, movement of work-in-process (WIP), and final inspection and transfer of finished products.
- Communicate job expectations and provide coaching, counseling, and performance management as needed.
- Maintain positive working relationships with employees and work within the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Analyze production issues, identify solutions, and recommend corrective action.
- Assist the Production Manager with various production-related duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Two-year technical degree or higher preferred.
- 2–3 years of production supervisory experience, preferably in a metal-processing environment.
- Machine shop and welding knowledge or skills preferred.
- Strong communication and observation skills.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with employees.
- Strong knowledge of plant operations.
- Good decision-making and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong management skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to meet medium-duty physical demands.
