Job summary

The Doe Run Company is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Buick Resource Recycling Division in Boss, MO. Lead a crew to meet production, safety, and environmental goals on a 10-hour day shift.

Base operations are in a facility noted for lead recycling and mineral processing. Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, prefer a bachelor's degree, and at least 5 years in industrial operations with prior supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial operations or manufacturing.
• Prior supervision experience preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills required.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, respectful atmosphere among crew and foster teamwork.
• Observe production areas to ensure progress and attend meetings for issues.
• Review and prioritize work orders and assign tasks.
• Supervise, coach, and ensure safe, compliant work areas; maintain cleanup.
• Handle requisitions, timesheets, and production reports.
• Inspect equipment, perform minor repairs when possible, schedule preventive maintenance.
• Maintain EHS compliance and address unsafe acts or conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Create a positive, respectful atmosphere among crew, fostering a team environment and open communication.
• Observe production and assigned areas to assure production is progressing. Attend meetings to stay abreast of any issues or concerns.
• Review and prioritize work orders and assign work to crewmembers according to their skills and priorities.
• Supervise, coach, and follow up for work completion; ensure safe and environmentally compliant work area and that rules are followed and tools, proper clothing, and equipment are used. Includes maintain cleanliness of work areas.
• Handle requisitions for parts and supplies and complete time sheets, production reports, and other necessary paperwork.
• Monitor and inspect equipment (including mobile equipment if necessary), complete minor repairs and maintenance when possible, submit repair maintenance work orders, and schedule preventive maintenance for plant equipment when needed.
• Maintain EHS (environmental, health and safety) compliance by holding direct reports accountable for adherence to EHS policies, procedures and best practices; evaluating employee EHS performance via field observations and document review; reporting and correcting unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and providing feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelors Degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial operations or manufacturing
• Prior supervision experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Databases, Budgeting Software, Invoicing Software, I-Series, PeopleSoft, MMS, and HRIS systems.
• Strong Interpersonal communication skills
• Conflict resolution and delegation
• Knowledge of lean/6 sigma principles
• Knowledge of general chemistry

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Regularly uses a computer and phone. Rarely uses hand tools (powered and non-powered) and cutting/welding equipment.
• Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and wet, humid, hot, or cold (non-weather) conditions. Frequently exposed to extreme temperatures.Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts. Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, fall protection, a respirator, hearing protection, and eyewear. May be exposed to loud noise levels.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, talk and hear; occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms. Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
