Job summary

KSM Industries in Germantown, WI is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead about 15 employees on the plant floor, ensuring safe, efficient shift execution and alignment with quality and delivery targets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication, welding, forming, laser cutting, paint, or assembly.

Responsibilities

• Lead second-shift employees across multiple manufacturing areas; establish clear expectations and follow through on commitments.
• Direct daily production activities, assign work, balance labor, monitor progress, and address constraints to support the production schedule and on-time delivery.
• Ensure consistent application of expectations for attendance, punctuality, breaks, workplace conduct, housekeeping, and standard work.
• Promote a strong safety culture; reinforce safe work practices, correct unsafe conditions, and support incident prevention and follow-up.
• Maintain quality at the source by ensuring employees follow work instructions and inspection requirements; respond to defects and support corrective action.
• Drive 6S, Lean, process mapping, waste reduction, visual management, and other continuous-improvement activities throughout the shift.
• Coordinate shift handoffs and communicate production status, staffing concerns, quality issues, equipment problems, and material constraints to appropriate partners.
• Monitor and improve performance measures, including safety, attendance, quality, productivity, schedule attainment, and delivery.

Position Summary

The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor leads approximately 15 employees across the plant and is accountable for safe, consistent, and efficient shift execution. This hands-on leader coordinates production priorities, develops employees, reinforces standards, and partners with first-shift leadership and support functions to meet quality, delivery, productivity, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, coach, and develop second-shift employees across multiple manufacturing areas; establish clear expectations and follow through on commitments.


• Direct daily production activities, assign work, balance labor, monitor progress, and address constraints to support the production schedule and on-time delivery.


• Ensure consistent application of expectations for attendance, punctuality, breaks, workplace conduct, housekeeping, and standard work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience; experience in sheet metal fabrication, welding, forming, laser cutting, paint, or assembly is strongly preferred.


• Demonstrated success leading hourly employees and building accountability, engagement, teamwork, and consistent operating practices.


• Working knowledge of 6S, Lean manufacturing tools, process mapping, standard work, root-cause problem solving, and general manufacturing practices.


• Strong communication, organizational, conflict-resolution, coaching, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.


• Ability to read production priorities, work instructions, drawings, and performance information; ERP/MRP experience is preferred.
