Job summary

JDH is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the grain shuttle unloading and commodity handling facility, ensuring movement and quality of grain and feed while meeting company goals. You will provide day-to-day leadership for operations, safety, customer service, maintenance, cleanliness and quality assurance in the facility.

The role requires supervising staff, coordinating training, managing storage and distribution, and driving a culture of safety, accountability and professional growth

Qualifications

  • 1+ year feed mill experience preferred; prior supervisory or foreman experience in manufacturing or industrial operations preferred.
  • High level of detail, multitasking, analytical and problem-solving skills with solution orientation.
  • Positive, self-motivated individual with organization, communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise operations, reporting, grain and commodity handling and maintenance.
  • Ensure proper storage, blending, storage and distribution of commodities; maintain housekeeping.
  • Oversee and manage maintenance of all commodity handling equipment.
  • Support interviewing, hiring and training of employees.
  • Supervise and develop the team; track accountability and performance.
  • Foster a safety‑driven culture and a productive work environment.

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will supervise all aspects of the grain shuttle unloading and commodity handling facility by ensuring grain and feed movement and quality standards while meeting company goals and objectives. Provide day to day leadership support to the location, including all operations, safety, customer service, maintenance, cleanliness, and quality assurance within the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervisor responsibilities involve supervision, reporting, grain and commodity handling and management, safety, and maintenance.
  • Assure proper commodity storage and condition, blend grain for proper storage and distribution to customers, and practice good housekeeping principles.
  • Oversee and manage the maintenance of all commodity handling equipment.
  • Support the interview, hire, and training of employees.
  • Supervise employees to be effective on the job and to grow professionally. Track employee accountability.
  • Lead the entire team and support their growth and development.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity and contributes to creating an environment where people want to work.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year feed mill experience preferred, prior supervisory or foreman experience in manufacturing or industrial operations preferred
  • High level of detail, multi-tasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with intuition to create solution.
  • Positive, self-motivated individual with organization, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound judgment, with the ability to resolve challenges and make decisions under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and task management abilities
  • Comfortable training and mentoring team members across a variety of production roles
Physical Demands:
  • Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, climb 75 feet of ladder, and be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, dust)
  • Must be able to function in a loud, industrial setting with background machinery noise
  • Ability to navigate an office environment.
  • Regular and predictable attendance in office or site location.
