Job summary

Spectrum Control is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead production workers and coordinate activities based on equipment, materials, and availability. You will ensure strong internal and external customer service while guiding daily operations.

Responsibilities include planning employee activities, monitoring equipment, adjusting schedules to meet budgets and shipping requirements, and driving process improvements with Quality and Process Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate activities of production workers to align with equipment, material, and supply availability.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance as needed to maintain production capabilities.
  • Adjust schedules to meet budget and shipping requirements and communicate updates to management or customer service.
  • Review production processes and advise on improvements based on production data, lot failures, and returns with Quality/Process Engineering teams.
  • Inspect products for conformance and direct machine setup and adjustments.
  • Contribute to annual manufacturing planning and cost-saving measures for production processes and materials.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of production workers. They review and plan employee activities and job assignments based on equipment, material and supply availability. They are primarily responsible for maintaining effective customer service for all internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Coordinate, plan and review employee activities and job assignments based on equipment, material and supply availability
  • Monitor equipment performance and requests maintenance as needed to ensure optimal production capabilities
  • Monitor performance of staff and corrects or modifies production schedule to ensure product meets budgetary and shipping requirements and communicate product completion information to manager or customer service
  • Review and recommend improvements to production processes by evaluating production, production lot failures and customer returns with Quality and Process Engineering
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and direct set-up and adjustment of machines
  • Participate in the development of annual manufacturing plans, cost saving measures on production processes and/or materials and provide input to quality improvement teams and product release teams
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review and coordinate SPC use and/or implementation on production floor with engineering and production staff.
  • Evaluate employee performance and complete progress and performance assessments.
  • Address employee concerns and solve or work with HR to handle.
  • Resolve issues regarding job performance and/or other job- related problems by enacting disciplinary action.
  • Responsible for advising and making recommendations regarding hiring, training, promotions and termination of employees.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping and handle issues with such.
  • Develop, train and motivate team to ensure conformance.
  • Execute processes and methods as developed by engineering.
  • Review product and completes documentation to ensure no unqualified processes are released to production.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Associate’s Degree
  • Experience Years: 3-5 years
  • Experience Type: Technical or process manufacturing OR equivalent combination of education and experience
