Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of production employees while ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of liquid and aerosol manufacturing processes. This is a hands‑on leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge of liquid and aerosol production equipment and manufacturing processes. The Production Supervisor will provide technical guidance to operators and technicians, assist with troubleshooting production and mechanical issues, and partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to maximize equipment reliability, production efficiency, and product quality.

This position has direct supervisory responsibility for production personnel and is expected to build a high‑performing team by fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Production Supervisor will establish clear performance expectations, coach and develop employees, provide timely feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and hold team members accountable for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and operational performance.

The successful candidate will lead by example, creating an environment built on trust, respect, engagement, and teamwork while driving operational excellence. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all company safety policies, GMP requirements, environmental regulations, and quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives that improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase equipment reliability.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop production employees to build technical capability, improve performance, and strengthen team engagement.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement by setting clear expectations and holding employees accountable for results.
  • Lead daily production operations while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and customer service objectives are achieved.
  • Provide hands‑on technical support and work with operators and maintenance technicians to troubleshoot production and equipment issues involving liquid filling, aerosol filling, blending, mixing, propellant systems, conveyors, labeling, capping, crimping, leak detection, and packaging equipment.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting, preventive maintenance planning, and equipment improvements.
  • Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize equipment utilization.
  • Lead equipment startups, product changeovers, and line clearances while ensuring compliance with GMP and quality standards.
  • Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA/GMP, environmental, and company safety requirements.
  • Utilize production metrics and KPIs to drive performance improvements and communicate expectations to the team.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to support new product launches, equipment installations, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a positive work environment that encourages employee engagement, teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
Education and Experience Profile
  • Five or more years of manufacturing experience, including significant experience in liquid and aerosol manufacturing operations.
  • 1-2 years previous supervisory or leadership experience managing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of liquid and aerosol production equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with:
    • Liquid filling systems
    • Aerosol filling and propellant systems
    • Mixing, blending, pumps, and tank systems
    • Conveyors and automated packaging equipment
    • Capping, crimping, labeling, coding, and leak detection equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist in troubleshooting equipment and production issues.
  • Working knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment and PLC‑controlled systems.
  • Experience leading changeovers, improving line efficiencies, and supporting preventive maintenance initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and employee development skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high‑performing teams while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience using production metrics to drive operational performance.
  • Experience in aerosol, personal care, cosmetics, household products, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Knowledge of FDA/GMP manufacturing requirements and quality systems.
  • Experience with ERP and manufacturing reporting systems.
Work Environment
  • 90% Manufacturing/Warehouse and 10% Office Environment
