Job summary

LT Foods Americas is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead and coordinate manufacturing operations in a fast-paced facility. The role focuses on safety, quality, and efficiency while ensuring adherence to SOPs and GMPs across shifts.

The ideal candidate will have several years of food-manufacturing supervision experience, knowledge of Lean principles, HACCP/HARPC, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of relevant food manufacturing experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience following and supporting the development of SOPs and training documents.

  • Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, HARPC, and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise manufacturing employees: set expectations, assign work, monitor performance, train, and enforce policies.
  • Support staffing, onboarding, training, cross-training, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Maintain production flow: monitor steps, equipment, and materials; coordinate actions and corrective actions.
  • Execute daily production plan: assign personnel, set priorities, monitor progress, resolve routine problems, complete shift reports.
  • Maintain product quality by enforcing SOPs, GMPs, and food safety requirements.
  • Provide production records, downtime, labor usage, yield, quality results and shift data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operations, safety, quality, and efficiency; recommend improvements.
  • Promote teamwork across Production, Quality, Warehouse, Sanitation, and Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
Production
  • Supervises manufacturing employees by communicating job expectations; assigning work; monitoring performance; coaching and training employees; and consistently applying company policies and procedures.
  • Supports staffing and employee development by participating in selection, onboarding, training, cross-training, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Maintains production flow by monitoring process steps, equipment, control points, personnel, and materials; escalating equipment or process issues; and coordinating timely corrective action.
  • Executes the daily production plan by assigning personnel, establishing shift priorities, monitoring progress, adjusting work assignments, resolving routine problems, and completing accurate shift production reports.
  • Maintains product quality by enforcing company standards, SOPs, GMPs, food safety requirements, and quality control procedures.
  • Provides production information by accurately compiling, reviewing, and reporting production records, downtime, labor usage, yield, quality results, and other shift performance data.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve operating practices, workflow, recordkeeping, safety, quality, efficiency, and cost performance; recommends improvements to the Production Manager.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment by training and directing employees on the proper use of equipment and resources and ensuring compliance with established safety policies and procedures.
  • Promotes teamwork and effective communication within the shift and across Production, Quality, Warehouse, Sanitation, and Maintenance.
  • Ensures production efficiency, labor efficiency, recovery yield, and FTQ (First Time Quality) standards are achieved; escalates gaps and supports corrective actions.
Maintenance:
  • Performs and verifies operator preventive maintenance activities as assigned and ensures required documentation is completed.
  • Coordinates breakdown response with Maintenance and communicates equipment issues, production impact, and repair priorities.
  • Monitors production-area parts and supplies and promptly communicates replenishment needs to the appropriate department.
  • Supports scheduled maintenance activities and works closely with Maintenance, equipment vendors, and operators to improve equipment reliability.
  • 3 years of relevant food manufacturing experience, including at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Grain industry experience a plus but not required.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, HARPC, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, basic problem-solving, and statistical process control concepts.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to support operator maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment changeovers.
  • Understanding of SAP preferred but not required.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and employee development.
  • Willing and able to work on the production lines when operational needs require.
  • Experience following and supporting the development of SOPs and training documents.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with GFSI standards, including SQF and FSSC 22000.
  • Thorough understanding of GMPs in the food industry.
Desired Qualifications:
  • SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Food manufacturing supervisory experience preferred.
