Job summary

Sioux Steel Company is looking for a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations on the Lennox, SD shop floor. You will develop our people, drive safe and efficient production, and work across teams including Maintenance, Engineering, Sales and Customer Service to meet goals.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong coaching and accountability, and a drive for continuous improvement in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Significant manufacturing or production leadership experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage production operations.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and accountability skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities to meet safety, quality, productivity, and delivery expectations.
• Serve as a hands-on leader, including operating production machinery when needed.
• Lead, coach, and develop production employees with clear expectations and accountability.
• Monitor production performance including productivity, efficiency, downtime, and throughput.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements, standard work, and SOPs.
• Coordinate staffing, PTO, production priorities, and resources.
• Partner with Maintenance and other departments to reduce downtime and resolve challenges.
• Coordinate with Night Shift leadership to strengthen handoffs and schedules.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure policies are followed.
• Communicate production risks and opportunities to leadership and other departments.

What You'll Do

As our Production Supervisor, you'll oversee daily production while working closely with employees, leadership, Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, and other teams. You'll help ensure production goals are met while improving processes, reducing downtime, and building accountability across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities to meet safety, quality, productivity, and delivery expectations.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular movement throughout a manufacturing environment, use of required PPE, and the ability to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs., climb stairs or ladders, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach. Occasional travel may be required.
