Georgia-Pacific is hiring a 2nd or 3rd Shift Production Supervisor at our Sheboygan, WI location. The role relies on leadership, operations experience, and clear communication to identify and convert improvement opportunities related to people, process, and systems.

Ideal candidates are self-driven with a commitment to safety, manufacturing excellence, and quality, and possess strong interpersonal and technical skills to lead transformation initiatives across the plant.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising employees in manufacturing and coaching a team.
  • Experience in corrugated packaging or converting operations.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an operating team in safety, health, environmental, and quality compliance.
  • Foster a PBM philosophy across the plant.
  • Drive safety excellence through employee involvement and accountability.
  • Coach, train, and develop operations personnel in safety, quality, and production.
  • Ensure best practices to minimize waste at machine centers.
  • Address issues and coordinate with other departments to ensure on-time production.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance.

The ideal candidate must be self-driven and demonstrate a commitment to safety, manufacturing excellence, and quality. Will also possess strong interpersonal communication and technical skills, as well as being capable of leading transformation initiatives.

As a key member of the plant leadership team, you’ll collaborate closely with maintenance, quality, and commercial partners to deliver best-in-class corrugated solutions.

  • Lead an operating team in compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality.
  • Foster a culture based on our Principle-Based Management (PBM®) Philosophy.
  • Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigating strategies; investigate incidents and participate in the resolution of causes.
  • Coach, train, and develop operations personnel in safety, quality, and production.
  • Ensure best practices are followed for the minimization of waste at machine centers.
  • Address key issues and concerns and interact with employees from other departments to ensure quality, on-time production.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback as needed; assist in resolving complaints; hold employees accountable as needed; communicate issues and results daily.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience supervising employees within a manufacturing, production, industrial, or military environment, and demonstrated experience coaching and developing a team.
  • Experience working in the corrugated packaging/containerboard industry on a corrugator OR in a converting operation.
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience working with the KIWI application.
  • Experience working within a unionized workforce.
  • Experience with SQF or BRC.
