Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is hiring a 2nd or 3rd Shift Production Supervisor for our Sheboygan, WI location. The Supervisor will lead an hourly operations team and drive safety, quality, and operational excellence in a corrugated packaging environment.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and transformation capabilities, with a focus on coaching and developing staff and improving processes and systems to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising employees within a manufacturing, production, industrial, or military environment, and demonstrated experience coaching and developing a team.
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging/containerboard industry on a corrugator OR in a converting operation.
• Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead an operating team in compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality.
• Foster a culture based on our PBM Philosophy.
• Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to identify hazards and implement mitigating strategies; investigate incidents and participate in root-cause analysis.
• Coach, train, and develop operations personnel in safety, quality, and production.
• Ensure best practices are followed for minimization of waste at machine centers.
• Address key issues and concerns and interact with employees from other departments to ensure quality, on-time production.
• Plan, assign, and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback; assist in resolving complaints; communicate issues and results daily.

The ideal candidate must be self-driven and demonstrate a commitment to safety, manufacturing excellence, and quality. Will also possess strong interpersonal communication and technical skills, as well as being capable of leading transformation initiatives.
