Job summary

Stryten Energy in Salina, Kansas, operates one of the region's largest lead-acid battery plants with 800 employees, producing more than 35,000 batteries daily. This position supports production leadership on the D shift, which runs Thu-Sat and every other Wed, from 5:25 pm to 6:00 am.

The role focuses on assigning and monitoring work, training and developing hourly staff, ensuring safety, quality, and continuous improvement while complying with plant policies.

• Strong Excel skills.

Overview

The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or, in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival.

Schedule: D Shift: Thurs-Sat, every other Wed; 5:25pm to 6:00am

Responsibilities

• Assign and monitor work to achieve production efficiently.
• Direct, train, appraise, develop, and discipline hourly employees as required.
• Assure production meets quality standards and control scrap and rework.
• Implement plant policies and procedures in regard to safety and health.
• Assist in establishing and setting up equipment for production jobs or for improved processes.
• Report and follow through on tooling needs and equipment maintenance problems.
• Assure compliance with all plant policies and procedures.
• Drive employee communication.
• Comply with current Quality Systems requirements
• Undertake assigned projects as directed by the Shift Superintendent, Department Manager, Production Manager, or Plant Manager
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Attend all meetings and training as scheduled
• Undertake assigned projects as directed by Plant or Department Manger
• Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skills Required:

• Bachelors’ degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in a Manufacturing setting.
• Solid skills with Excel.
• Must be willing to work night shift.

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting, standing, walking, bending and twisting as required.
• Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid)
• Occasional lifting from grams up to 50 pounds

Equipment Used:

• General office equipment, PC with various software.
• Personal protective equipment as required.
