Job summary

Stryten Energy, Salina plant, is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee direct and indirect employees on the D shift (Thurs-Sat, every other Wed) from 5:25pm to 6:00am. You will manage production scheduling, ensure safety and quality, and drive continuous improvement in a large lead-acid battery manufacturing site.

Responsibilities include training and disciplining hourly staff, coordinating tooling and maintenance, and ensuring compliance with plant policies while maintaining cost controls

• Excel proficiency required.
• Must be willing to work night shift.

Job description

The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or, in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival.

Supervise direct and indirect employees and the production to meet established schedules. Maintain safety, quality, productivity, and communication standards, along with controlling costs. Enforce compliance with company policies and procedures.

Schedule: D Shift: Thurs-Sat, every other Wed; 5:25pm to 6:00am

• Assign and monitor work to achieve production efficiently.
• Direct, train, appraise, develop, and discipline hourly employees as required.
• Assure production meets quality standards and control scrap and rework.
• Implement plant policies and procedures in regard to safety and health.
• Assist in establishing and setting up equipment for production jobs or for improved processes.
• Report and follow through on tooling needs and equipment maintenance problems.
• Assure compliance with all plant policies and procedures.
• Drive employee communication.
• Comply with current Quality Systems requirements
• Undertake assigned projects as directed by the Shift Superintendent, Department Manager, Production Manager, or Plant Manager
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Attend all meetings and training as scheduled
• Undertake assigned projects as directed by Plant or Department Manger
• Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning

Education, Experience, Skills Required

• Bachelors’ degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in a Manufacturing setting.
• Solid skills with Excel.
• Must be willing to work night shift.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting, standing, walking, bending and twisting as required.
• Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid)
• Occasional lifting from grams up to 50 pounds

• Personal protective equipment as required.
