Job summary

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience in a union manufacturing environment is a plus.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Production Supervisor to lead and support a high-performing production team in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on, front-line leadership position responsible for coordinating daily production activities, supporting hourly team members, maintaining production schedules, promoting workplace safety, and driving continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can coach and develop employees while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day production activities within an assigned manufacturing area or zone.
• Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop production team members.
• Maintain a strong safety-first culture and ensure compliance with established safety procedures.
• Train and educate employees on safety practices, quality standards, equipment operation, and 5S principles.
• Monitor production performance and help ensure scheduled production requirements are achieved.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, workflow, and operational efficiency.
• Promote continuous improvement and encourage employees to identify and solve production challenges.
• Support Lean manufacturing initiatives, including waste reduction, inventory reduction, and work-in-process improvements.
• Ensure employees receive appropriate training from team leaders or designated trainers.
• Work closely with technical and operational teams to resolve production issues.
• Establish and support goals aligned with key operating and performance metrics.
• Serve as a first point of contact for employee relations and performance issues.
• Work with union representatives regarding contract, disciplinary, and employee-related matters as needed.
• Foster a respectful, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
• Perform additional supervisory responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of experience in a medium- or high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
• Previous production, manufacturing, assembly, or shift supervision experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor, and motivate hourly production employees.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced production environment while balancing safety, quality, productivity, and employee needs.
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts such as 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, process control, production scheduling, and waste reduction is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience working in a union manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Relevant professional, internship, or co-op experience may also be considered.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to stoop, bend, and perform activities requiring manual dexterity.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Schedule Requirements

This position works second shift, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Additional workdays may occasionally be required based on production needs.

Candidates must be able to reliably commute to Ripon, Wisconsin. Relocation assistance and employment visa sponsorship are not available.
