Job summary

Piston Automotive in Michigan is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee plant employees in manufacturing and assembly. You will plan, assign work, and ensure production meets safety, quality, and delivery targets.

This role requires leadership, training, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities for shift meetings, coaching, and monitoring equipment progress to meet customer schedules.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience as a Production Supervisor or related experience.
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).
• Supervisor Certification.
• Green Belt Certification.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Responsibilities

• Educates employees on plant safety requirements and ensures policies are followed on the plant floor.
• Reviews daily production requirements and aligns manpower for safe, efficient operation.
• Ensures production employees are trained per standard work instructions.
• Leads employees to meet production targets within quality standards and delivery schedules.
• Conducts shift meetings to review daily activity and ensure communication between shifts.
• Coaches and administers corrective actions to enforce policies and rules.
• Monitors equipment and progress to schedule attainment and resolves issues.
• Completes daily safety, production, and quality reports as required.
• Ensures accurate time and attendance in the system.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations.

Job description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising plant employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Responsibilities

• Drives continuous improvement initiatives regarding all plant operations.
