Job summary

Tomball Controls is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment. You will oversee a production team, manage workflow, and drive continuous improvement to meet KPIs and organizational goals.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Planning, Quality, Materials, and Maintenance, enforcing SOPs, and coaching staff to achieve production targets while maintaining a safe workplace.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate production team to meet production schedules and customer demand.
• Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety standards and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
• Monitor production output, labor efficiency, and material usage; take corrective actions to meet targets.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and expectations.
• Train, coach, and evaluate team members; provide feedback, discipline, and recognition as needed.
• Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Materials, and Maintenance teams to minimize downtime and resolve issues.
• Monitor and report performance metrics such as throughput, scrap, rework, and downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, attendance, and incidents.
• Support continuous improvement efforts, lean manufacturing practices, and 5S initiatives.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and cross-training of production staff.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Job Description:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery of products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal fabrication or electrical/mechanical assembly.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and use of manufacturing tools and equipment.
• Exposure to noise, heat, and manufacturing environments.
