Job summary

The White Moustache, a Brooklyn-based artisanal yogurt company, is seeking two energetic production supervisors to lead our teams in daily yogurt creation and related products. You will uphold our commitment to handmade quality for the New York City community, working onsite in Brooklyn, NY from 6am to 5pm on a four-day schedule.

Responsibilities include hiring and training, overseeing the daily workflow, maintaining sanitation and safety, ensuring product quality, and keeping accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years kitchen, bakery or food management experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory duties managing a team.

The White Moustache, a Brooklyn-based artisanal yogurt company, is looking for two energetic production supervisors to lead our teams through their day-to-day creation of our yogurts and related products. Your role is to uphold our unwavering commitment to creating the finest possible handmade yogurt for our New York City community.

Location: Onsite - Brooklyn, NY

Schedule: Full Time 6am to 5pm (4 days) -- 2 shift options available:

• Shift 1: Sunday to Wednesday
• Shift 2: Wednesday to Saturday

Hourly Rate: $25/hour

FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor will lead an assigned team through the daily creation of an artisanal food product to ensure smooth operations, adherence to strict compliance rules and processes as well as efficient completion of day-to-day projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with hiring and training of team members.
• Oversees the daily workflow, scheduling and assignments of the assigned team.
• Adjust daily shift roles based on call outs and absentees.
• Fills out daily reports and checklists.
• Ensures quality of food product at all stages.
• Maintains high sanitation standards.
• Instructs production team on roles and shift duties daily.
• Maintains excellence in production processes.
• Interacts with monthly Ag&Markets inspectors for sample pick-ups.
• Ensures that the equipment is available, clean and in proper working order.
• Leads team in conducting daily safety checks on equipment.
• Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives.
• Maintains detailed and accurate work records.
• Requests new or replacement tools, supplies, or equipment as needed for production.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent management and interpersonal skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of sanitation practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to motivate team to accomplish objectives.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production and personnel issues.
• Ability to remain organized.
• Basic understanding of records, inventories, and other routine documentation used in production.
• Thorough understanding of food production procedures and regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• At least two years of related Kitchen, Bakery, Food management work experience required.
• At least one year of supervisory job duties specific to managing a team is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to repetitively lift 50lbs
• Stand for 8+ hours straight
• Basic tech comprehension and usage
• Excellent time management and organization
