Production Supervisor

Job Description:

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for the efficient operation of the manufacturing department, the direction of the plant workforce, and meeting daily production schedules. Additionally, the Production Supervisor will coordinate the activities of their team members and verify that the correct manufacturing processes are adhered to. They will partner with other departments, engineers, and quality personnel to identify and resolve potential customer or production issues.

Shifts: We operate three shifts, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

What are we looking for?

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • A bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred

Knowledge/Experience

  • A minimum of two years experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment
  • Background in packing, manufacturing, or food production (restaurant or industrial)
  • Proficiency in MSOffice (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or G Suite tools (Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs)
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient technology, computer, mathematical, and analytical skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, maintain, and repair complex mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components and systems
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position requiring heavy lifting up to 50 lbs carrying tools and supplies, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and standing on feet for long periods
  • Must be flexible to work weekends and other shifts as needed.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, and GMPs

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead, coach, and train your team, providing them with professional development through ongoing coaching.
  • Consistently promote safety throughout your work area and with your team.
  • Partner with recruiting to ensure you have the people to run your production area.
  • Motivate your team by constantly training and helping to optimize your team's performance.
  • Ensure your team is always in compliance with company policies and our established quality & food safety programs.
  • Complete employee time, absenteeism, and vacation paperwork or systems on time.
  • Set the example with sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
  • Track usage of tools and raw goods to ensure proper stock for workflow at all times. Reorder and provide timely reorder alerts as necessary.
  • Participates in facility-wide DDS (daily direction setting) meetings and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Receive orders and accurately manage inventory of raw goods and finished products, as well as small tools and equipment, through inventory management software and spreadsheets.
  • Oversee use and care of department equipment and provide continuous improvement support with regard to defect handling
  • Responsible for reporting on equipment performance, PCL determinations, and equipment capacity updates.
  • All other relevant duties related to the job of a production supervisor.
