Job summary

Ultimate Staffing is hiring a Production Supervisor for an on-site role at our client site in Menlo Park, CA. The position is a temporary second shift (Mon-Fri, 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM) with a pay rate of $51–$58 per hour and a 10% differential.

The role involves leading a team of technicians in pilot manufacturing, managing test support and prototype builds, and driving R&D goals and safety. Strong Lean and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in an R&D/manufacturing environment.
• Experience in setting up manufacturing processes, supporting R&D, and monitoring key process indicators.
• Lean manufacturing concepts and tools experience.
• High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree in technical/engineering field preferred.
• Effective communicator with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills across levels.
• Proficiency with Google or Microsoft documents and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Set and achieve daily/weekly/monthly test support and production deliverables to meet schedule demands.

Temporary Second Shift Supervisor:

- Schedule: Mon-Fri, 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM

- Pay Rate: $102k - $120k + 10% differential

- Timeline to hire: 4-6 months

Responsibilities:

As a Production Supervisor, you will serve as a leader to deliver on test support requests, prototype builds, and assembly retrofits that further our exciting and unique product. You will build and supervise a cohesive group of technicians and through positive engagement of your coworkers, you will ensure that we accelerate our R&D testing efforts and deliver on our builds to plan.

At our fast paced Pilot Manufacturing facility in Menlo Park, you will be heavily involved in prototyping new design releases being developed and you will be hands-on in delivering on the production and test support schedule through teamwork.

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting and achieving daily/weekly/monthly test support and production deliverables to meet schedule demand.
• Monitor key process indicators to resolve issues before they impact R&D goals.
• Work hand-in-hand with Technical Operations team members to coordinate and optimize production workflow.
• Provide direction and leadership to R&D technicians.
• Identify opportunities and drive solutions to improve efficiency.
• Actively pursue the resources needed to ensure your team’s success.
• Work collaboratively with Technical Operations Manager to balance resources and achieve R&D goals.
• Above all, ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times through active monitoring and through constant solicitation of continuous improvement ideas.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in an R&D / manufacturing environment.

Experience in setting up manufacturing processes, supporting R&D, as well as identifying and monitoring key process indicators.

Working knowledge and experience in applying Lean manufacturing concepts and tools.

Minimum High School Diploma; bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field is preferred.

Must be an effective communicator with solid collaboration and interpersonal skills and proven success working cross functionally at all levels.

Comfortable using Google or Microsoft documents and spreadsheets or equivalent.
