Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation in Marion, OH is seeking an Analyst, Operations/Production to lead a material department on a 3rd shift. You will supervise a team and drive safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives while implementing World Class Manufacturing methods.

You will manage attendance records, data analysis, kaizen countermeasures, and capital project development to support long-term manufacturing strategy at the Marion operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required or preferred in Operations or Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience supervising or leading a team.
• Experience leading, coaching, and developing large teams of employees.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Experience implementing problem solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Analyst, Operations/Production.

This role will be based at our manufacturing plant in Marion OH and is a 3rd Shift role.

M-F 10pm to 6:30am

The Operations/Production Analyst leads an entire material department at Marion Operations in pursuit of all Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People objectives. This position is the direct people leader of the team consisting of a coordinator, team leaders, and operators who are responsible for daily production for that line/shift.

Your responsibilities will include

• Lead production activities to meet customer demand as set by the level plan
• Drive improvements to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People objectives for the department
• Implement World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methods and tools into daily operations
• Direct, develop, support, and assess the team members as their people leader
• Complete daily time & attendance records in Kronos for direct reports
• Understand and lead route maximization through data analysis
• Lead World Class Manufacturing (WCM) expansion activities through Logistics Customer Service (LCS) Pillar
• Lead continuous improvement activities utilizing the WCM methodology in support of plant metrics. The person in this role will support our WCM implementation with specific targets to meet
• Perform root cause analysis based on data to eliminate losses
• Data collection and analysis will play a big part of your job. Once losses are identified a countermeasure in the form of a kaizen will be implemented against the root cause issue. You will manage the kaizen from start to finish through the various internal tollgates. Support operations in the form of coming up with creative solutions to immediate problems. Lead/work in small cross functional teams. Develop solutions and lead capital projects that support the long term manufacturing strategy of the Marion operation
• Specify, order and assure proper implementation of new process & equipment
• Maintain quality standards within the department
• Communicate to work teams, shop floor leaders, and other departments to ensure greatest efficiency
• Support maintenance department in troubleshooting critical issues
• Drive process improvements using lean manufacturing concepts and tools
• Lead team of Engineering Technician(s) to drive projects
• Bachelor's Degree
• 2+ years of experience supervising or leading a team

Preferred skills and experiences

• Bachelor's Degree in Operations or Engineering
• Experience in leading, coaching, and developing large teams of employees
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Experience implementing problem solving and continuous improvement
