Job summary

U.S. Pipe in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations, develop a capable hourly workforce, and sustain a safe, efficient, high‑quality production environment.

You will report to the Production Manager, drive process improvements, coordinate with maintenance, and ensure achievement of KPIs while upholding strict safety and quality standards. This role offers growth in a world-class organization with strong teamwork and accountability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing or construction environments.
• Experience with ductile iron products is a plus; foundry experience preferred.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the work of hourly production employees to meet daily production targets while maintaining safety and quality.
• Manage daily operations, monitor workflows, solve problems, and implement process improvements to meet standards and targets.
• Provide support and hands-on maintenance of mechanical equipment in partnership with maintenance supervisors to optimize equipment and processes.
• Champion safety programs, conduct safety audits and reinforce a culture of workplace safety and accountability ensuring compliance with all safety regulations
• Work closely with operations/plant leadership to meet KPIs, continuous improvement initiatives, safety, and quality standards.

Job Description

We are looking to hire a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor at our Lynchburg, VA location. As a Production Supervisor at U.S. Pipe and Foundry, a successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing operations and workforce to meet daily manufacturing goals while ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality operation

Key Responsibilities As a Production Supervisor Will Include

• Leadership: Under the direction of the Production Manager, lead and direct the work of hourly production employees to achieve daily production targets while maintaining a high level of safety and quality.
• Production Oversight: Manage daily operations, monitor workflows, problem-solve, and implement process improvements to meet production standards and targets.
• Mechanical Operations: Provide support and hands on maintenance of mechanical equipment/tooling in partnership with maintenance supervisors to optimize equipment and processes. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist with repairs to ensure smooth production.
• Safety and Compliance: Champion safety programs, conduct safety audits and reinforce a culture of workplace safety and accountability ensuring compliance with all safety regulations
• Collaboration: Work closely with operations/plant leadership to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), continuous improvement initiatives, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years previous supervisory or management experience in a heavy fast paced manufacturing and/or construction environment is required. Experience in ductile iron products a plus, foundry experience highly preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical) or Manufacturing and/or related field desired.
• Ability to lead and direct workforce, to achieve a technically competent and highly motivated workforce, ensuring all necessary training and development to promote skill development, quality, safety, and compliance are met.
• Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
