Job summary

U.S. Pipe is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift to lead a team of maintenance personnel in a fast-paced industrial setting. You will supervise hourly crews, promote safety, and ensure equipment reliability during each shift.

The role requires diagnosing defects, coordinating parts and repairs, and maintaining safe operations while meeting production goals. A strong safety mindset and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • 2 years in foundry environment preferred.
  • Must be able to recognize defective equipment and report defects to supervision.
  • Must be able to work in both hot and cold environments.
  • Must follow safe work procedures and safety rules in heavy industrial environments.
  • Exhibit critical thinking attributes.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Maintenance Specialist or Journeyman card preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned hourly crew in making effective repairs to equipment, in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Communicate with maintenance and production supervisors to promote a smooth-running operation.
  • Help minimize downtime by coordinating repairs to operational equipment with production delays.
  • Determine repair parts and supplies needed and requisition materials.
  • Initiate projects on a limited basis for repairs during semi-annual shutdowns and procure materials.
  • Follow up on maintenance inspections and repairs, and modifications to machinery and operator contracts.
  • Generate work orders from shift to shift to promote productivity, reliability, and safe operations.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Promote and maintain good housekeeping in all assigned areas.
  • Control material and tool usage with assigned crew.
  • Manage Administrative tasks such as Safety/First Aid/Near Miss reports, THINK forms for prework safety checks, Lock Out Tag Out, Shift Reports, hourly production timecards.

About the Role:

U.S. Pipe is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift to join our team. You will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance personnel during scheduled shift. Supervisors are expected to lead by example, promoting our safety culture, upholding plant rules, developing employees technical aptitude, and proactively growing a highly functioning maintenance crew.

Maintenance Supervisorsensure equipment reliability in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment. While monitoring all maintenance performed during the shift, keeping the plant operating safely and efficiently while making the necessary repairs to equipment.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Supervise assigned hourly crew in making effective repairs to equipment, in or out of operation, in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Communicate with maintenance and production supervisors in a professional manner to promote a smooth-running operation.
  • Help minimize downtime by coordinating repairs to operational equipment with production delays.
  • Determine repair parts and supplies needed to make the necessary repairs and requisitions needed materials.
  • Initiate projects on a limited basis, for repairs to be done during semi-annual shutdowns and procure material for the same.
  • Follow up on the results of maintenance inspections and repairs, modifications to machinery and machine operator contracts.
  • Generate work orders from shift to shift to promote maximum productivity, reliability, and safe operations of equipment through effective repairs.
