Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Kaizen and Lean principles.
  • Ability to assess department health using data and observation.
  • Proven ability to implement effective improvement plans.
  • Creative problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience applying different leadership approaches.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to work with people at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.

Job Summary

In this role, you will have the responsibility and authority to assess the status of the production area and take action as defined in controlled plans and work instructions. This position involves interaction with employees at all levels of the organization, internal and external customers, and outside contacts. Supervisory responsibilities include training and developing team members, delegating work assignments, writing and conducting performance appraisals, coaching, counseling, and administering disciplinary procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct work activity of team members in the assigned area.
  • Effectively grow future key employees and leaders.
  • Distribute workload appropriately and motivate and empower team members.
  • Create and execute individual development plans for team members.
  • Train and mentor team members in root cause analysis and PDCA.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and eliminate waste.
  • Champion Lean Kaizen events to identify cost and time savings.
  • Perform root cause analysis and participate in cost-reduction programs.
  • Coordinate new product launches with Engineering.
  • Develop and deploy standardized work instructions for the department.
  • Ensure process stability by following standardized work.
  • Conduct improvement events resulting in measurable improvements in unit time and part flow.
  • Drive measurable cost reduction through improved processes and training.
  • Perform capacity analysis using build plans and determine staffing requirements.
  • Ensure departmental productivity targets are met to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling and material issues.
  • Ensure quality standards are met with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Communicate with customers and establish effective relationships.
  • Coordinate corrective action activities.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct safety investigations and audits, addressing non-compliance.
  • In partnership with HR, promote a culture of inclusivity and belonging.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Materials Process Engineering.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Solid understanding and experience with Kaizen and Lean principles.
  • Ability to assess the overall health of a department or value stream through data correlation and direct observation.
  • Capability to implement effective improvement plans based on analysis.
  • Creative problem-solving approach.
  • Knowledge of multiple leadership approaches and ability to apply them effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people in a team environment and at various organizational levels.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
