Job summary

Amsted Rail Company in Kansas City is seeking a Production Supervisor to schedule, coordinate and supervise the melt shop operations on a shift, reporting to the Production Manager. The role oversees team leaders, maintenance mechanics/electricians and hourly staff to meet production goals.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSESchedule, coordinate and supervise the melt shop in order to meet production requirements and objectives on a shift. The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager.Reporting to the Production Supervisor are the team leaders, maintenance mechanics/electricians and an hourly staff consisting of various production jobs. The incumbent is responsible for the supervision and direction of middle foundry. They are also responsible for maintenance of equipment.Responsible for 10-18 headcount.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIESSchedule, coordinate and supervise the melt shop operations on a shift in order to meet production requirements and objectives. Supervise and coordinate manpower requirements. Schedule and direct the repair of equipment. Select, train, and motivate a competent work force to assure an efficient, cost-effective operation. Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards. Participate in complaint resolution of grievances at the first step to promote good working relationships with employees and fair and equitable solutions for the Company. Perform other duties as required.JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE3-5 years of experience supervising in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Non Destructive Testing, tooling, Quality Control (including SPC), Safety, maintenance, capital project management.
