Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises production personnel to meet schedules and quality standards.
  • Must be able to learn and understand manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures to lead and troubleshoot assigned production areas.
  • Train and provide support to new and current employees to ensure complete understanding of roles and responsibilities, paperwork and processes.
  • Utilize LDM boards to communicate department performance, track CI projects, and problem solving activities; lead team meetings at LDP board to develop improvement actions.
  • Monitor and report departmental metrics such as scrap, utilization, efficiency and good cycles/man hour.
  • Provide feedback in employment decisions such as performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and hiring/termination of production personnel.
  • Help drive the culture for Best in Class Safety.
  • Manage direct reports and attendance daily in ADP.

Atlas Molded Products - a Division of Atlas Roofing Corporation - specializes in the development and manufacture of innovative, high-quality, HFC- and HCGC- free Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) insulation for construction, packaging, and original equipment management (OEM) products. Atlas EPS insulation is suitable for interior and exterior construction applications, various packaging uses and as part of manufactured systems, such as recreational vehicles, garage and pedestrian doors and sunroom panels. Atlas Roofing Corporation, a privately owned company established in 1982, is an international and multi-divisional manufacturer of roofing, sheathing, facer, and insulation product solutions. Atlas Molded Products is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Kansas City, Kansas facility.

Position Summary

Responsible for directing the daily activities of production personnel to ensure that production schedules and quality standards are met for assigned departments.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Other Duties As Assigned)
  • Directly supervises production personnel to ensure that orders are produced in a timely fashion and adhere to safety and quality standards in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Must be able to learn and understand the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures necessary to lead and troubleshoot assigned production areas.
  • Train and provide support to new and current employees to ensure complete understanding of roles and responsibilities, paperwork and processes.
  • Utilize LDM (Lead Daily Management) boards to communicate department performance, track continuous improvement projects, and problem solving activities. Additionally, lead team collaboration meetings at LDP board to develop actions for improvement.
  • Responsible to monitor and report departmental metrics such as scrap, utilization, efficiency and good cycles/man hour.
  • Provides feedback in employment decisions such as performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and the hiring and termination of production personnel.
  • May perform various functions in PeopleSoft including creating jobs, printing job travelers, issuing materials, and reporting quantities.
  • Must help drive the culture for Best in Class Safety
  • Manage direct reports.
  • Manage attendance daily in ADP.
  • Does not have the authority to hire or fire but is expected to make recommendations.

  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment required.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • Must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
  • Must be a computer literate; Excel, Word, Outlook, ERP systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Light to moderate physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, reaching both forward and above head level, and tolerant of temperature changes for the entire shift.
  • Must be able to deal with stressful situations in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to push, pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
