Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Supervise a manufacturing crew of up to 20-50 employees
  • Lead and promote a zero‑injury safety culture by ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Actively identify, address, and escalate unsafe conditions or behaviors, stopping work when necessary to prevent injury or risk. Lead or support incident investigations.
  • Administers policies and work rules in conjunction with Human Resources department.
  • Ensure clear, timely, and consistent communication across production lines to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative and accountable work environment that boosts morale and productivity.
  • Coach Team Leads and employees through regular observation, feedback, and follow‑up to reinforce expected behaviors, standards, and performance.
  • Identify skill gaps and training needs across lines; ensure appropriate training plans are executed.
  • Drive consistent expectations, procedures, and results across all production lines and shifts.
  • Verify process performance indicators at various production stages, equipment operation, assessing progress against schedules and any problems which may arise.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements continuous improvement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Conduct regular audits of safety practices, quality standards, standard work, and operating procedures across all production lines and shifts to verify consistent execution.
  • Partner closely with maintenance department to ensure optimal operation of equipment and machinery through scheduled maintenance planning.
  • Escalate risks to management with clear data and recommendations to drive safety, equipment up time, decrease quality loss and improve overall performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis for recurring production, quality, or downtime issues.
  • Validate that corrective actions from incidents, deviations, or continuous improvement activities are effectively implemented and maintained.
  • Maintain property, plant, and equipment to support and improve the safe production and performance of the operations.
  • Maintains electronic time and production records for department.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.

  • Positive and Verifiable Work History
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing
  • Experience leading/supervising in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, SOP and standard work
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes
  • Some familiarity using manufacturing software systems such as Infor M3
  • Able to be perceptive and have a strong awareness of surroundings to identify potential risks and communicate these risks to employees.
  • Able to follow established policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to demonstrate practical problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment on assigned projects/tasks and report to supervision the status of each as needed.
