Job Overview

Hydraulics of Texas is seeking a hands-on and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily shop operations at our facility. The primary focus of this role is to manage and oversee all aspects of machining, including manual lathes, mills, and CNC operations. This position plays a critical role in coordinating between inspection, machining, and assembly to ensure high-quality and efficient production flow. The person in this role reports to the shop foreman, operations manager, and general manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activities, with a focus on the machining department.
• Work closely with the inspection team to determine appropriate repair procedures after initial evaluation.
• Assign and manage jobs for machinists, ensuring all required materials and documentation are in place.
• Clearly communicate machining expectations and specifications to machinists and provide support throughout the job.
• Ensure quality control (QC) is performed on all machined parts before they proceed to assembly.
• Monitor job progress to meet deadlines and ensure accurate, timely completion.
• Act as a liaison between inspection, machining, and assembly departments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide practical solutions as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a machine shop, preferably in hydraulic cylinder manufacturing or repair.
• Strong knowledge of manual lathes, mills, and CNC machines.
• In-depth understanding of hydraulic cylinder operation.
• Proven ability to lead a team.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
