Job summary

Element-Food-Solutions-LLC is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead and develop employees, meet KPI targets for safety, quality, production, service and efficiency, and schedule priority production lines. You will supervise shift activities, enforce 5S and GMP/HACCP guidelines, drive continuous improvement and report daily production data.

This role requires supervisory experience, strong leadership, and a background in high-speed manufacturing with lean/Six Sigma practices; bilingual

Qualifications

• Three (3) years supervisory experience required with demonstrated strong leadership and management skills.
• Three (3) years of experience in a production environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5-10+ years manufacturing supervision experience in a high-speed environment.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, six-sigma or CI tools.

Job SummaryThe Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing employees, as well as meeting defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for Safety, Quality, Production, Service and Efficiency. Schedule priority production machines and/or lines and employees accordingly. Assist and work under the direction of the Production Manager.Essential FunctionsLead by example to promote and encourage employees to comply with all safety requirements.Complies and enforces all safety rules regarding personnel safety and reports and investigates any unsafe condition.Establish an environment that encourages employee engagement, participation and teamwork within and between all departments.Supervise and promote practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards, and serve the needs of our customers.Operate production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, GMPs, and HACCP/SQF program guidelines.Meet and enforces cleaning practices for manufacturing (5S's methodology).Becomes personally accountable for the highest quality and integrity standards of behavior, honesty, and fairness in all aspects of the job.Comply with and enforce the cleaning procedures in changes of product and weekly production end.Supervise and coordinate all activities related to the production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.Ensure all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basis.Supervise lead, coach, train and develop the production team.Audit the floor as required, monitor productivity metrics, verify adherence to procedures/ standard work and correct deficiencies as necessary.Responsible for shift change management and communication as well as daily production standards and labor reconciliation.Resolve problems and mitigate operational issues that result in negative performance.Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring & training employees; planning, assigning & directing work; appraising performance; rewarding & disciplining employees; addressing complaints & resolving problems.Utilize lean, six-sigma, quality methodologies and other continuous improvement tools to track KPI’s, metrics.CompetenciesStrong negotiation, interpersonal and decision-making skills.Ability to utilize and train employees on technology, processes, and procedures.Excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related processes.Ability to prepare outlines, reports, letters, and any other supplemental materials in a clear and concise manner.Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPointEducationMinimum Required:High School Diploma or GEDThree (3) years supervisory experience required with demonstrated strong leadership and management skills.Three (3) years of experience in a production environmentBilingual English/SpanishPreferred:Associate or Bachelor's degree5-10+ years manufacturing supervision experience in a high-speed manufacturing environmentExperience with lean manufacturing, 5S, six-sigma or other continuous improvement tools.
