Production Supervisor

Job Overview

Our client, a leading defense manufacturer of vessels and submarines, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their 2nd shift in Goose Creek, SC.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, promote, discipline, and coordinate activities of production workers.
• Manage safety training, quality production, and evaluate new hires during their probationary period.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Train personnel on machinery operation to maximize capability and quality.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and machinery is operated safely.
• Resolve production schedule issues, determine work procedures, and prepare work schedules.
• Conduct reviews for new hires and promote teamwork.
• Ensure employees have necessary tools and troubleshoot machinery issues.
• Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
• Assist with ISO9001 activities and maintain department housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong leadership skills and financial analysis knowledge.
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and results orientation.
• Experience developing financial models.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software such as IFS.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and management reporting.

Education and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of steel processing experience.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Ability to obtain forklift and crane operation certifications.
• Ability to read blueprints and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required, with five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
