Production Supervisor
Job Overview
Our client, a leading defense manufacturer of vessels and submarines, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their 2nd shift in Goose Creek, SC.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, promote, discipline, and coordinate activities of production workers.
- Manage safety training, quality production, and evaluate new hires during their probationary period.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Train personnel on machinery operation to maximize capability and quality.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and machinery is operated safely.
- Resolve production schedule issues, determine work procedures, and prepare work schedules.
- Conduct reviews for new hires and promote teamwork.
- Ensure employees have necessary tools and troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
- Assist with ISO9001 activities and maintain department housekeeping.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills and financial analysis knowledge.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and results orientation.
- Experience developing financial models.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software such as IFS.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and management reporting.
Education and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of steel processing experience.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Ability to obtain forklift and crane operation certifications.
- Ability to read blueprints and lift at least 50 lbs.
- Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required, with five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
