Job summary

Dauch Corporation is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee and coordinate manufacturing operations, train staff, and drive achievement of production goals in a fast-paced facility.

The role requires Lean and 5S knowledge, strong communication and leadership, and the ability to coach teams on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This position focuses on cost control, efficiency, and meeting customer requirements within a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing
• 2+ years supervisory experience in a union facility preferred
• Lean manufacturing concepts and MS Office proficiency required

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise and coordinate production operations
• Implement and follow safety practices and preventative safety measures
• Champion product quality, workmanship, methods and processes to meet internal and customer requirements
• React to non-value added or cost issues that arise during production
• Utilize resources to optimize costs
• Recognize and respond to equipment issues
• Provide input to management for cost reduction and continuous improvement
• Administer company policies and employee actions
• Review performance of reporting staff and set objectives
• Recommend personnel actions and training for the department
• Maintain a skilled, flexible and efficient workforce
• Coordinate quality efforts to meet standards
• Maintain and seek improvements to the facility's cost structure
• Champion 5S, Lean, and housekeeping programs
• Prepare reports such as daily shift activity summaries
• Champion Diversity & Inclusion per company guidelines
• All other duties as assigned

Job Description Summary

Oversees, monitors, coordinates, trains and facilitates production team activities, giving importance to individual member’s and overall team’s achievement of established goals. Ensures teams goals are aligned with and representative of the company’s directives. Acts as liaison between team members and the rest of the organization.

Job Description:

• React to and take action upon non-value added or cost issues that may arise during production activities.
• Utilize skills, knowledge, abilities, experience, staff hours, machines, and tools to most economical advantage

• Provide input to management to facilitate effective cost reduction, work simplification, scheduling, or other continuous improvement measures.
• Administer company and government policies/laws in accordance with all employee actions (hiring, layoffs, terminations, transfers, disciplinary actions, etc.)
• Review performance of, coach for improvement, and set objectives for all reporting to this position
• Recommend personnel actions, changes of assignment, training ,etc. for department.

• Maintain and seek improvement to the cost structure of the facility.

Required Skills and Education

Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing environment, with a minimum of two years in a supervisor capacity. Supervisory experience in a union facility is preferred. Bachelor’s / Associates degree preferred. This position requires knowledge of operations and Lean manufacturing concepts. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office are also desired. This position requires the ability to motivate employees, exceptional communication and organizational skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships. Accountability and ability to manage performance, develop and coach direct reports and department members is also a must.
