Vybond Group, a Franklin, KY manufacturer of pressure-sensitive tapes, is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee a shift, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and lead hourly teams through continuous improvement initiatives.

You will coordinate resources, enforce production standards, and mentor staff while maintaining strong communication with maintenance, quality, and support groups to achieve plant goals.

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a front line supervisory or team lead role in a manufacturing environment.
  • General manufacturing experience required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others.
  • Comfortable in group presentations.
  • Good interpersonal skills when dealing with tough employee issues.
  • Proficient in MS Suite, basic computer skills, typing and email etiquette.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the manufacturing process for assigned work area and shift to ensure production targets are met.
  • Promote a safe work environment and drive continuous improvement in health and safety.
  • Provide leadership and direction for hourly manufacturing employees on day-to-day operations and long-term improvements.
  • Engage the workforce to achieve plant objectives including reducing risk, costs and downtime.
  • Coordinate plant resources to address issues and improve metrics.
  • Enforce company policies consistently.
  • Ensure a knowledgeable and flexible workforce through training and cross training.
  • Develop employees with clear expectations, timely recognition, and coaching or discipline as needed.
  • Maintain quality by enforcing production standards.
  • Communicate departmental performance related to safety, quality, and cost.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings for consistent cross-team communication.
  • Partner with support groups to achieve area results.
  • Provide production information by collecting and analyzing performance records.
  • Collaborate with clerks to track timekeeping and attendance.
  • Review and respond to employee time-off requests.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
