Job summary

LiquidStack is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to improve throughput and quality in a fast-paced environment. The role requires partnering with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations; building standardized work, conducting training, and guiding NPI transitions from development to production.

You will help scale production, implement new equipment, and foster a culture of continuous improvement,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, operations, or related field preferred.
  • 5–7 years of manufacturing experience in a production leadership role.
  • Six Sigma certification required; Green Belt preferred, Black Belt a plus.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and transitioning products from development into production.
  • Experience developing, improving, or implementing manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working in a startup, high-growth, or scaling manufacturing environment.
  • Strong reading of engineering drawings and cross-functional collaboration skills.

POSITION SUMMARY

LiquidStack is a global leader in advanced liquid cooling solutions supporting high-performance computing, AI, and data center environments. As demand for AI infrastructure continues to grow, we are expanding our manufacturing operations to support new products, increased production volumes, and evolving customer requirements.
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to support and lead day-to-day manufacturing operations while helping develop and improve the processes needed to scale our production capabilities.
This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership role for someone who understands Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, New Product Introduction, and process development and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has experience working in a startup, high-growth, or scaling manufacturing environment and is comfortable helping build processes while also managing daily production needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
What You’ll Do
Manufacturing Operations
  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing activities to support safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
  • Lead and support production employees, establishing clear expectations around safety, quality, productivity, and accountability.
  • Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and workflow.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Support production scheduling, staffing, training, and resource planning.
  • Establish and maintain standardized work, work instructions, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure manufacturing activities are performed consistently and according to established quality and safety requirements.
Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to improve manufacturing processes and eliminate waste.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, rework, downtime, waste, and production delays.
  • Use structured problem-solving tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, DMAIC, and root cause analysis.
  • Support Lean initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, standard work, visual management, and process flow improvements.
  • Track manufacturing KPIs and use data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Help establish a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the manufacturing team.
New Product Introduction & Process Development
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities as products transition from development into manufacturing.
  • Partner with Engineering and Quality to ensure new products are ready for production.
  • Assist with prototype, pilot, and production builds and identify opportunities to improve manufacturability.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, assembly methods, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Work with Engineering on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) considerations.
  • Help identify and resolve manufacturing issues during product development and production ramp-up.
  • Support the transition of new products from development into stable, repeatable production.
Production Scaling
  • Support manufacturing growth as production volumes and product requirements increase.
  • Help identify additional equipment, tooling, staffing, and process requirements needed to support production growth.
  • Improve production flow and manufacturing processes as the organization scales.
  • Support the implementation of new equipment, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing methods.
  • Help establish scalable processes that can accommodate changing production volumes and customer requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations to resolve manufacturing issues and improve production performance.
  • Work closely with Quality to address defects, corrective actions, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to address material availability and production constraints.
  • Communicate production issues, performance, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
  • Participate in NPI and engineering change activities to ensure manufacturing requirements are considered.
  • Lead, coach, and develop manufacturing employees.
  • Provide training and guidance on standardized work, safety, quality, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and continuous‑improvement-focused team environment.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and development of manufacturing personnel as the organization grows.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • 5–7 years of manufacturing experience, with demonstrated experience in a production or manufacturing leadership environment.
  • Six Sigma certification required; Green Belt preferred, Black Belt a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and transitioning products from development into production.
  • Experience developing, improving, or implementing manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working in a startup, high‑growth, or scaling manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving.
  • Working knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, standard work, 5-Why, Fishbone, and other Lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience creating or improving work instructions, process documentation, and standardized work.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work with Engineering on manufacturability issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a hands‑on, fast‑paced manufacturing environment where processes and priorities may change as the company grows.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electro‑mechanical or complex hardware manufacturing.
  • Experience in HVAC, thermal management, data center infrastructure, industrial equipment, electronics, or similar industries.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience with production metrics and manufacturing reporting.
  • Experience supporting production ramp‑up or new manufacturing lines.
  • Experience with tooling, fixtures, assembly processes, or manufacturing equipment.
