Job description

At LiquidStack, we’re redefining what’s possible in the data center world. As a global leader in advanced liquid cooling solutions, we’re powering the future of AI, edge computing, and high-performance systems. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for skilled professionals who want to be part of something innovative and impactful.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing / Process Engineer is a process-owning, hands-on role supporting final assembly operations in a fast-paced, scaling manufacturing environment. This engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and sustaining safe, repeatable, and high-quality manufacturing processes for complex mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.

This role is ideal for an engineer with 2–4 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, automotive, or similar final assembly environments who thrives on shop-floor engagement, Lean execution, and ownership of processes—not just documentation. The role partners closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering to ensure products are built right the first time and can scale reliably as demand grows.

At LiquidStack, this role reflects our behaviors—Flexible, Collaborative, Driven, Agile, Customer-Centric, and Attentive—by adapting quickly, owning problems end-to-end, and maintaining a strong safety and quality mindset.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Process Ownership & Final Assembly Support

  • Own and continuously improve assigned final assembly manufacturing processes, from standard work development through execution and sustainment.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve routings, work instructions, process flows, and visual standards.
  • Provide daily, hands-on shop-floor support to troubleshoot process issues, defects, bottlenecks, and variability.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and fluid assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation.
  • Support line balancing, takt time and cycle-time analysis, workstation layout, and ergonomic improvements.
  • Support basic tooling, fixtures, and work-cell improvements to enhance safety, quality, and throughput.

Lean Manufacturing, 5S/6S & Continuous Improvement

  • Apply Lean manufacturing methodologies to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
  • Demonstrate applied Lean experience, including participation in Kaizen events, waste elimination, and standard work implementation.
  • Lead and sustain 5S/6S initiatives, audits, corrective actions, and visual management within assigned areas.
  • Use structured problem-solving tools (A3, root cause analysis, DMAIC) to drive measurable improvements.

Quality Systems & ISO Discipline

  • Operate effectively within ISO-based quality management systems and manufacturing controls.
  • Partner with Quality to support PFMEAs, control plans, nonconformance investigations, and CAPA.
  • Promote “build quality into the process” principles rather than reliance on inspection.
  • Ensure process documentation is accurate, current, and audit-ready.

Safety-First Mindset

  • Actively promote and model a safety-first culture on the manufacturing floor.
  • Ensure processes, tooling, and workstations comply with safety and ergonomic standards.
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard mitigation activities.
  • Reinforce safe behaviors and expectations with operators and peers.

Scaling & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support manufacturing scale-up, including new product introductions, volume increases, and process stabilization.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to provide design-for-manufacturability (DFM) feedback and implement engineering changes.
  • Partner with Production and Supply Chain to resolve material flow, tooling, and capacity constraints.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with operators, supervisors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in a final assembly environment.
  • Demonstrated application of Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S/6S, standard work, Kaizen participation).
  • Experience supporting production directly on the shop floor.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and fluid drawings.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Six Sigma certification or formal Six Sigma training (Green Belt preferred).
  • Experience implementing and sustaining 5S/6S.
  • Familiarity with ISO quality systems, audits, and documentation.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, PFMEA, and control plans.
  • Exposure to ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, piping, fluid handling, or electromechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Ability to spend significant time in a manufacturing and production environment.
  • Occasional domestic travel (up to ~20%) as business needs require.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive pay with opportunities for overtime
  • Paid time off, holidays, and great benefits
  • Be part of an industry-disrupting company with room to grow
