Job summary

Muhr und Bender KG in Alabama seeks a production technician to supervise line operations, adjust machines to fix nonconforming parts, and ensure deadlines are met. You will inspect parts, record production data, and help schedule employee time off and shifts on the line.

The role requires CNC experience or a mechanical background, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and training in 5S and basic plant safety.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school, or two to three years manufacturing related experience.
• CNC experience and/or mechanical background required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and plant operating systems.
• Training in 5S, Lockout/Tagout, basic plant safety, and general machine operations.
• Knowledge of Hazardous Waste, ISO 14001 awareness and related programs.

Responsibilities

• Interfaces with others to ensure customer deadlines are met.
• Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specs.
• Directs workers in adjusting machines to repair products.
• Establishes work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Maintains time and production records and supports scheduling.
• Trains, evaluates, and reviews new operators and maintains logs.
• Participates in interviews, hiring, firing, and disciplining employees.
• Fills in on the line when needed and tracks attendance in E-time.
• Supports safety, quality and housekeeping rules on the floor.
• Develops work instructions for direct reports and coordinates between shifts.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions: · Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met. · Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications. · Records and schedules employee time off, overtime, vacation, and tardiness. · Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards. · Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. · Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew. · Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems including accident reporting, safety rules, and disciplinary action forms. · Maintains time and production records. · Trains, evaluates, and reviews all new operators and ensures training logs are completed. · Participates in employee interviews, hiring, firing, and disciplining employees. · Fills in on the line if needed. · Tracks and enters employee schedules and attendance in E-time Software application. · Support and enforce established safety, quality and housekeeping rules and regulations on production floor and in break rooms. · Coordinates production status reports and personnel schedules to next shift supervisors. · Completes reports for downtime, productivity, scrap, and absenteeism for the shift. · Conducts and record accident reporting and employee disciplinary measures. · Develops work instructions for the machine’s direct reports runQualificationsRequired Education & Experience: · One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years manufacturing related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. · 1-3 years manufacturing or certificate from tech school. · CNC experience, and/or a mechanical background. · Computer knowledge of Microsoft Suit and previous exposure to plant operating systems. · Training in 5's, Lockout & Tag Out training, Basic Plant Safety, and General Machine Operations. · Based on competence and need, training or knowledge in Hazardous Waste, ISO 14001 Awareness, ISO 14001 Internal Auditing, ISO 14001 & beyond, ISO 14001 Top Management, HazWaste/Operator Program Training, HazWaste Manifest and Core Program Training, HazWaste/Crisis Management Training. · Must be familiar with Quality, Materials, Environmental, and Safety Policies · Must know and understand the production side of work instructions and equipment. Preferred Education and Experience: · SAP Experience. · Experience in automotive manufacturing and /or engineering and sales driven business. · Experience working in a Germany based (international) organization. · Bilingual German/Spanish The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
