Job summary

Jobtailor in New Jersey is seeking a Production Manager to oversee manufacturing and assembly operations, ensuring on-time delivery within budget. You will coordinate production planning, drive efficiency, and mentor teams across departments.

You will develop KPIs, analyze performance, and partner with engineering, purchasing, and sales to optimize workflows while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the production of manufactured and assembled products starts and finishes within budget and on time.
  • Develop KPI’s for leadership and team members that measures success and daily goal achievement.
  • Participates in the hiring and training of team members within each department.
  • Creates daily schedule for production, measures actual results vs plan.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Maintain product quality guidelines as set by engineering and management.
  • Motivate and mentor employees, providing support and guidance.
  • Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which each department’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates process flows within each department and coordinating functional areas.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control metrics, cycle count tracking, as well as disposition of drop material and scrap.
  • Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day production.
  • Ownership of production schedule coordinating efforts between engineering and purchasing, and communication with sales.
  • Ensures work environments are adequate and safe.
  • Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to team and supervisors.
  • Monitor production and resolve issues as they arise, reporting metrics weekly to the management team.
  • Improves customer service and satisfaction through quality and on time delivery.
  • Leads coordination and integration of efforts among production control, purchasing, engineering, technology, and customer service to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.

Requirements

  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Prolonged periods of walking, sitting, and working at a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work weekends as needed.
