Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking an engineer to lead a frontline production team in a 24/7 manufacturing setting, applying engineering principles to troubleshoot, improve quality, and develop operator technical capabilities. This is an early-career role designed to build manufacturing and leadership experience while advancing toward broader operational leadership.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a frontline production team through coaching, mentorship, cross-training, and performance management.
  • Utilize data-driven problem-solving tools and root cause analysis to improve quality, reliability, yield, and operational performance.
  • Oversee day-to-day production activities for a team of approximately 10 employees in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Reinforce process discipline and standard work while monitoring operations and addressing process variation.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to drive equipment reliability and process improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through training, hazard recognition, safe work practices, and incident response.
  • Communicate priorities, expectations, and operational updates effectively across shift transitions.

You will lead a frontline production team while remaining closely connected to the manufacturing process-applying engineering principles to troubleshoot issues, improve process stability and quality, and develop operators' technical capabilities. Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Manufacturing experience in a high-volume or 24/7 production environment through internships, co-ops, technician roles, operator leadership positions, or full-time employment.
  • Previous leadership experience managing teams, projects, training initiatives, or continuous improvement efforts.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Whys, standard work, or error-proofing techniques.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to operators and technicians.
