Job summary

Vertiv Co is seeking a 1st shift supervisor to manage manufacturing operations and material movements to meet customer demand. The role integrates production control, workforce planning, and supervision, while driving 1st pass yield improvements.

The supervisor will report daily with the 2nd shift supervisor and lead the team in safety, quality, and continuous improvement. A strong emphasis on on-time delivery and operational excellence is required.

Qualifications

• Oversee manufacturing operations on the 1st shift.
• Lead the workforce and plan production throughput.
• Coordinate material movements and report performance gaps.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal.
• Oversee the set-up and operation of assigned team/shift based.
• Make informed and intelligent decisions and improvise in the absence of instruction (lead a team independently after normal business hours have ended).
• Ensure standard work, policies, and procedures are followed on the shift.
• Provide troubleshooting assistance to maintenance and determine the cause of performance gaps using collaborative data knowledge and creative problem-solving skills.
• Document/report all production and quality requirements and any performance gaps.
• Maintain inventory control and transactions across manufacturing.
• Ensure team is punctual and productive.

POSITION SUMMARY

The 1st shift supervisor is responsible for management function relating to manufacturing operations and material movements through the plant to service customer requirements. The supervisor integrates the functions of production control, workforce planning, materials transactions, supervision of the workforce and trouble-shooting production issues. The supervisor will drive performance in both manufacturing and 1st pass yield to satisfy customer demand. Daily report outs will be required between the 1st shift supervisors and the 2nd shift supervisor.
