Job summary

McWane is seeking a dedicated production supervisor to oversee melting, casting, and finishing operations in a foundry producing ductile iron pipe for the waterworks industry. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring leadership of the production workforce and coordination across departments.

You will ensure safety, quality, and efficiency, mentor staff, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining alignment with company goals and standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years leadership experience in heavy industry (foundry experience preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Observe and enforce safety, environmental, and plant policies.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee daily production activities.
  • Train, develop, and mentor employees.
  • Motivate teams to meet production objectives.
  • Advise on performance, training needs, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate with other departments to achieve goals.
  • Foster continuous improvement culture.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Determine procedures and recommend improvements in production methods and equipment.

Job Description

Overview:Directly supervises, coordinates, and plans production for operations in Melting, Casting, and Finishing operations in a foundry producing ductile iron pipe for the waterworks industry. Drives company mission and communicates goals and expectations while overseeing assigned team. Identifies gaps in developmental needs and provides the guidance and support required for both staff and the organization to be successful.


Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude those listed below. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.



  • Observes and enforces all Safety, Environmental, and Plant policies and procedures.

  • Schedules, coordinates, and oversees the daily activities of production workers.

  • Trains, develops, and mentors employees.

  • Motivates and encourages teamwork with direct reports to ensure production objectives are met.

  • Advises and counsels production workers on how to improve their performance and provides input on performance appraisals, training needs and disciplinary actions.

  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments to achieve assigned objectives.

  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Holds self and others accountable to commitments.

  • Ensures proper quality standards are maintained on products being produced.

  • Determines work procedures, recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.

  • Keeps manager informed of problems as they arise.


Qualifications

Qualifications/Education/Experience:



  • Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3-5 years leadership experience in heavy industry (foundry experience preferred)
