Job summary

McWane is seeking a production supervisor to directly oversee Melting, Casting, and Finishing operations in a foundry serving the waterworks market. You will drive goals, monitor safety and quality, and guide a team of production workers to meet daily objectives.

The role requires 3–5 years of leadership in heavy industry, proficiency with MS Office, and a high school diploma or GED. This is an on-site, full-time position with standard benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years leadership experience in heavy industry (foundry experience preferred).
• Ability to supervise, coach, and mentor production staff.
• Proficiency with standard office software for reporting and communication.

Job Description

Overview: Directly supervises, coordinates, and plans production for operations in Melting, Casting, and Finishing operations in a foundry producing ductile iron pipe for the waterworks industry. Drives company mission and communicates goals and expectations while overseeing assigned team. Identifies gaps in developmental needs and provides the guidance and support required for both staff and the organization to be successful.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a full-time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.

• Observes and enforces all Safety, Environmental, and Plant policies and procedures.
• Schedules, coordinates, and oversees the daily activities of production workers.
• Trains, develops, and mentors employees.
• Motivates and encourages teamwork with direct reports to ensure production objectives are met.
• Advises and counsels production workers on how to improve their performance and provides input on performance appraisals, training needs and disciplinary actions.
• Communicate and coordinate with other departments to achieve assigned objectives.
• Fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
• Holds self and others accountable to commitments.
• Ensures proper quality standards are maintained on products being produced.
• Determines work procedures, recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
• Keeps manager informed of problems as they arise.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

• Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• High School Diploma or GED
• 3-5 years leadership experience in heavy industry (foundry experience preferred)
