Job summary

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent execution of the production plan. This role drives performance across safety, quality, delivery, and productivity by actively monitoring floor operations, removing constraints, and enforcing standard work.

The Production Supervisor maintains a strong presence on the production floor, responds in real time to issues impacting output, and coordinates closely with maintenance, quality, and planning to achieve schedule attainment. This position is accountable for equipment performance, labor efficiency, and waste reduction, while developing team members and reinforcing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures and ensure consistent use of PPE.
  • Conduct safety observations, incident investigations, and follow-up actions.
  • Promote and sustain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Daily Operations Execution
  • Drive schedule attainment by monitoring output vs. plan throughout the shift
  • Adjust staffing and priorities to meet production targets
  • Manage attendance, scheduling, and timekeeping for assigned team
  • Identify and escalat constraints impacting operational performance
  • Ensure smooth shift handoffs with clear communication of performance and issues
  • Maintain constant presence on the production floor (Gemba focused leadership)
  • Enforce adherence to standard work and operating procedures
  • Train, onboard, and develop employees to build capability and engagement.
  • Supervise, coach, and support employees to meet performance expectations.
Performance Management
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of production data
  • Hold team accountable for meeting daily and shift-level targets
  • Supervise, coach, and support employees to meet performance expectations.
  • Lead shift meetings and reinforce accountability for results.
  • Train, onboard, and develop employees to build capability and engagement.
  • Supervise, coach, and support employees to meet performance expectations.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify performance gaps and lead structured problem-solving efforts
  • Drive waste reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Communication & Coordination
  • Coordinate with scheduling and maintenance to align priorities and resolve issues.
  • Communicate priorities, changes, and issues clearly across shifts
  • Escalate critical issues quickly with clear problem statements and impacts
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing or operations experience in a union environment.
  • Prior leadership experience preferred; Lean experience and bilingual skills a plus.
